."NO GALLERY" INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY OPENING RECEPTION
Tonight the stars were aligned for me, as there was a double International Photography Reception in hip .NO Gallery in NYC. And one of my images was in it! (You read that right!).
The Exhibitions, hosted by Professional Women Photographers, and juried by the highly regarded Debra Klomp Ching and Mary Ellen Mark, had over 2500 entries in total world wide. So I feel very fortunate to be one of the 55 chosen, and a "juror's selection" at that.
The works were very diverse and the artists Interpretation was left to her imagination. And it showed! There is something for everyones taste to be sure!
If I were you, I would saunter on down there while the show is on thru May 27th. .NO Gallery is located @ 251 East Houston Street and is open Wednesday thru Sunday 1:00-6:00pm.
After all, a picture is worth more then a thousand words in my book.
FABSUGAR + LEVI'S ALWAYS HAVE YOUR STYLE!
Levi's flagship store on 34th street had a terrific fun event hosted by FabSugar, and Fab it was. Were you there?
With $200.00 gift cards raffled off every 30 minutes, mini cupcakes and other goodies and libations to partake in,AND a DJ spinning a mix of cool sounds, one could almost forget why they were there in the first place. Not quite.
With a 20% discount postcard good from 6-9pm on ALL their merchandise in hand, shoppers were busy checking out the fabulous cut and quality that Levi's is known for. In fact, even being in business for 138 years, give a month or two,Levi's developed Curve ID, a fit system based on a woman's shape not size. (Hooray!). They have fit specialists on hand to measure you, to ensure you get the perfect fit for your jeans.
And isn't that why we love our Levi's?
TWELV MAGAZINE + LOST ART Fashion Week Party
Forgive me for writing this a day late. (Well, it was Valentine's Day yesterday!) But on Monday, the guests at the Plunge Rooftop Lounge atop the Gansevoort Hotel in the always chic Meatpacking District, got an early Valentine.
I was there as a photographer taking pictures as they strolled in to see LOST ART by Jordan Betten and to preview a hot new mag TWELV, which will have its official launch in April. Noelle Bonner pulled the whole gig off with the help of her team. The result was a vibe that was cool and relaxing, yet the beat of the fab mix of music kept one always moving around the expansive lounge.
Hissa Igarashi is the editor in chief and creative director behind TWELV. He has an extensive background in fashion styling and editorial shoots having collaborated with world renowned stylists, including Joe Mckenna, Michael Philouze on shoots for magazines like Vogue Italia, Paris Vogue, Vogue Nippon, L’Uomo Vogue, V , I-D, L’Officiel and more.
His mission of creating a high fashion Art magazine has a unique twist. Besides fashion, It will feature a heady mix of band reports, actor interviews, and behind-the-scenes coverage of art in progress . TWELV will donate 12% of magazine and web sales to charities such as the World Food Program (WFP), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Hissa’s ultimate goal is to raise enough funds to build a school in South Africa.
So keep your eyes peeled for the first issue. The theme is LOVE and it promises to be very stimulating. I leave it to your imagination.
